Toyohari Acupuncture is a subtle, precise form of Japanese Meridian therapy using fine silver and steel needles and warming moxa on the surface of the skin to rebalance the qi (vital energy) and blood, restore balance, thus promoting the healing mechanisms in the body.

There are no heavy sensations felt by patients who receive other forms of needle therapy. It is very comfortable, relaxing and pleasant and ideal for all patients including sensitive patients and children.

How Acupuncture Can Help

Toyahari acupuncture is distinct in treating the root of the problem as well as the branches or symptoms. In this way the fundamental imbalance in the body is treated and the results are expected to be more long lasting.

A variety of health conditions can be safely treated with Toyohari acupuncture such as anxiety, back pain, circulatory problems, depression, digestive disorders, dizziness, ear nose and throat problems, facial paralysis, fatigue and low energy, gynaecological problems, headaches, high blood pressure, immune related problems, infertility, irritable bowel, menopausal symptoms, menstrual irregularities, migraines, musculo-skeletal problems, painful conditions, palpitations, pregnancy related conditions, respiratory problems, sciatica, sports injuries, stress, urinary problems, and many more. Although acupuncture is not to treat cancer, many symptoms related to cancer treatment such as pain, hot flushes, neuropathy, anxiety can be alleviated

What to expect at an Acupuncture Treatment

Firstly, diagnosis involves asking about your medical history, lifestyle and symptoms. Then you will lie on a couch (usually clothed) so that I can assess signs of imbalance by palpating your meridians in the wrists and feet, hara (abdomen) and naso (neck region) and reading the wrist pulses.

During the treatment you may feel tingling sensations, warmth or movement of energy. After each technique the pulses and meridians are rechecked for effectiveness and to see if more treatment is required.

After a Toyohari acupuncture treatment patients report feeling calmer and more balanced.

Patients generally remain clothed, so please wear loose clothing.
